The view from our hotel room, out onto the main square. This one was only 24 000 Pesos ( £5.30) per night

Inside our room, we even had hot water here, which you needed as it was a lot cooler in the mountains

Our balcony onto the main square

That's what happened to the last person who looked at him funny!

The streets of Jerico

Looking down on the town from the statue in the picture above

This was a town with a lot of cowboys and horses

but also used modern methods like processions lead by car

The local cheva to Andes

A buyer of coffee

A fan palm in the botanical gardens

The old fashioned medicines on display in the pharmacists

A horse having a quick rest against the wall, no need to tie them up, just park them next to the shop, they'll still be there when you get out

In fact you don't even have to get off of your horse to use the bar here, here are a few of the locals having a quick tipple of Aguadiente (fire water similar to ouzo)

Much happier now, lets hope his horse knows where he's going!

On the computer in the local internet cafe

more religious processions

Crazy church man at the front of the procession setting off fireworks from his hands! There was meant to be the Vaca Loco (mad cow) this night too, which is a cow made of card board boxes that runs about with fireworks coming out of his nose, but it got rained off.

Me and the local artist Jose, click here to see examples of his work
