The fort that we are anchored up next to at the mo

Stuart liked the delivery truck so I had to put it in to make him happy!

Sitting outside a local shop with a bottle of water on the way to visit the Fort San Felipe (all forts appear to be called that in central and South America!) We are wondering how we managed to get lost on the way to somewhere that was just a straight line away!

Hurrah we made it to the fort, that is Don Blas at the top of the podium, he successfully defended Cartagena against Admiral Vernon.

Fort San Felipe

Inside the fort, the only inside spaces are long thin corridors, that go all the way into the depths of the hillside.

Off to mompos for a night. We are taking a well loaded launcher from Mangangue to Bodega.

Launchers to the islands all lined up along the river.

Peter enjoying the ride.

Two little parrots in our hotel

This one was very naughty and chased both me and Stuart off of our chairs, after taking a chunk out of our room key.

Having a beer in the hotel

More parrots!

Me, Stu and Peter all in a little motorised tuk tuk taking a tour around the town.

Waiting in the tuk tuk whilst Stuart investigated on what was going on with the horse lying by the river bank

It to be a vet doing an operation on his tail

We saw a multitude of animals on this trip. The fair had just shown up in town with a cage full of lions, poor lions :-(

The cemetery in Mompos, we didn't get to take a good look around as we only had one night here, we didn't want to leave the boat at anchor on its own for more than a night, but it would definitely be worth spending a little more time here

The graveyard

An old tumble down colonial building on the river front

The local streets

Hey back to the hotel parrots!

This is just after the parrot has chased me off of my seat and just before he chases Stuart of of his!

More wildlife, a drunken bat smacked into the wall, poor little dude was later stamped on by one of the hotel staff

The launcher journey back from Bodega to Mangangue

The launcher was a little worrying on the way back the water was coming up very high over the side and the back was filling with water. We thought we were going to have to swim back!

We made it to Mangangue without having to swim and spent the day looking around
