The Quebec City Yacht club, we didn't stay here but paid to leave the dingy here (which confused them a lot, they couldn't understand that the boat was out on anchor and we only wanted to use the marina to access the town!)

Off for a cycle into town, the weather is very much like summer at home and has continually rained!

Le Chateau Frontenac. An enormous very picturesque hotel on the top of the hill

Down at the Old Port Marina we bumped back into our race boat again!!

At the market place

The train station

A fantastic city for bikes, bike racks and cycle paths everywhere (the huge steep hills aren't much fun though)

The old town

Fantastic murals on the side of the buildings

A bit more rain just to make us feel at home!

Stuart always makes us take pictures of cannons!

The huge hotel at the top of the hill

Looking down over the St Lawrence

The Fortifications of Quebec

Little Marie anchored in the haze off of the city

The horses drinking out of the special horse drinking fountains

The gardens in Plains of Abraham

We somehow managed to miss an enormous event the night before Quebec Day and the Plains of Abraham's looked like a tip the next day! But they had huge teams cleaning up and by the afternoon you wouldn't have know anything had happened

Horse station

The hotel at night

The Visionary's Gardens at the Muse de la Civilisation by Franco Dragone. Part of the 400th Anniversary celebrations going on this year

Now its blue!!

Off to the Old Port Marina to see the opening night of Robert Lepage's Le Moulin a Images, the largest ever video projection

Its very difficult to see here but it was fantastic and the sound made the whole dock shake

Hey they new we were coming!

The boats from France who have just completed the first half of their trans atlantic voyage have just arrived in town and we get to see them all parading up the St Lawrence past our boat

It was great to see Andre and Sylvain up here after making very impromptu plans, it all worked out just right and 5 minutes ago (a week after meeting up I received the email from Sylvain saying 'We are in the Quebec Yacht Club car park looking down at your boat!!)

Off to a suprise dinner at the revolving restaurant

Andre at the helm, out for a days sailing

The first time we have managed to have a good sail for a long time

You have to watch out for them big ships here though

Even Sylvain managed to pop over after work and have a little bit of a sail! Great to see you.
