Anchored off of Ile Grand Caouis

Having a mooch about the island

The owners of the cottage popped by in their boat and gave us a lobster for dinner which was very kind of them!

More Whales on the way to Ile Manowin

Anchored off of Ile Manowin after a spot of rain

Off to the island to have a look around

wild flowers

Marie anchored in the bay

Then we had a whale come to visit. We first heard him on the boat, he sounded like a gun shot pretty close but as we looked out from the boat we saw it was a whale right next to us!

He must have been curious as he circled the boat a couple of times when we were on it, he left the bay but came back 3 times

We got a bit carried away with the pictures but we were very excited!

Having barbequed lobby for dinner in the fog!

The island next door Ile du Corossol is a bird sanctuary

These little dudes called Penguins are soo sweet, they are tiny and have bright red feet and look as though they have a reall struggle flying

Coming back over to the islands with the fog coming in after popping down to Sept Ile for the morning

Taking the boat around Corossol to anchor on the east side of Manowin when the wind changed direction

The old light house keepers cottages, abandoned now, on Ile du Corossol

We didn't realise when we anchored on the west side that Manowin was inhabited and part privately owned. The owners were super friendly and let us use their mooring and invited us over for drinks and freshly caught lobster dinner!

Me and Ann, Louis in the background. Ann's great grandfather brought the land back in 1905 and it has stayed in the family ever since.

Signing the guest book

The old phones in the different cottages still work!

A trip over to Corossol to go and see the lighthouse and visit their neighbors

The road sign along the track to the light house

The cottage of the last light house keeper, he is no longer around but the family continues to stay here in the summer months

Porpoise skeleton

Moose horns and whale bone

So much wood washes up on the islands, great to keep the fire going

Behind me is a whale skull, its huge

as I am clearly demonstrating here!

Back on Manowin and in the fishing shed

another of the old telephones

The lobsters they get around here are enormous

The size of those claws!!

Having a beer with the family

We are currently stuck on the boat with high east winds, waiting for the weather to turn in our favor so we can head over to Gaspe

Mano isn't bothered about the weather, he has holed himself up with the sails and other stuff and is nice and cozy!
