Mike and Stuart on one of our last nights in Sarasota

Stuart and Casey talking diving

The sun setting

Stuart and Mike have the rum out

Oh dear, Dan's fallen asleep in the squadron TV area, I hope it wasn't all that rum!??

Mike fixing up some midnight snacks

Leaving Sarasota for a weekend in Useppa with the Motley Crew, some more of the huge houses that are all along the water around here

West Wind coming up behind us in Big Pass Channel on the way out of Sarasota

Over taking us now!

Yeah we caught a King Mackerel on the way

Walt on Lady Quebeca coming up behind us on the way onto Useppa

Naughty Mano has been on the beer again

First night anchored up off of Useppa, Stuart and Greta being very silly!

Dan and Cassandra

Stuart and Greta looking a little less like lunatics!

Greta and Dan

Bllllllllllllimey Greta, what was that you said!!!

Cindy and Ken doing a spot of fishing on the bow of West Wind the next morning

Right all off on a dingy excursion to Cayo Costa, Cindy and Ken

More big houses on Useppa, a private island that scum like us are not allowed to set foot on!

A cigarette boat moored up in Useppa, these boats are sooo loud and go so fast and cost 1/2 million Dollars. We really didn't like them very much

Jason and Cassandra in the dingy on the way to Cayo Costa

Some of the rich folk sailing along in their Cat boat, they were very friendly and wavy though

Cabbage Key

Dingy confrontations!

Stuart driving us through the Love Tunnel to get to Cayo Costa beach

It gets a little shallow though and we end up having to drag the dingy through parts

and duck under trees whilst bouncing from mangrove to mangrove!

Finally we all make it to the beach in one piece

It was well worth it

Everyone rushes off for a dip in the sea

Stuart and Greg drying off

Little birds pecking for worms in the sand

We had a rather unwelcome site when we all got back to our boats, its Love Bug season and they have completely swarmed all of the boats

There were millions of them all over the boat and inside, you dare not yawn or your mouth would be full, luckily they are harmless and don't bite or it really would have been miserable

Me trying to swipe them away from the door to stop them all getting inside, only to find out there was plenty in there anyway

After this more people arrived and we all rafted up together

Stu out and about giving people who didn't raft up lifts back to the rafted boats

The last night that everyone was there

All the boats rafted up together

Me and Kenny putting the world to rights

The morning that most people left

West Wind are off, it was really sad to say good bye to all the people here, we have had such a nice time and met so many great people. Everyone has really looked after us whilst we have been in Sarasota. Thank you all very much you made our stay fantastic, we will miss you all :-(

So now it is just us and Mike left (with his new boat) and we off on a Manatee watching mission

OK it is very difficult to get photos of them as the water is so murky that you never know where they are going to pop up next, but the lump in the middle of this picture is actually a manatee nose!

and here you can see one's nose and a part of his body, they were soo fantastic though and really sweet

Me on Manatee watch

Spotting Ospreys whilst out and about in the dingy

Here's one in his nest

We aren't too sure what this one is called buy he was very pretty

Then off we went to show Mike the Love Tunnel and for a quick dip in the sea

Is it just me or do all the dead trees look like camels?

Me and Mike looking for shells on the beach

Mike is very happy with his new boat

Saying good by to Mike, the last of the Motley Crew to leave us

Thank you Cindy and Ken for our very own Motley Crew flag!!
