Experience

Web Design Whilst Travelling - March 2005 - Present
I have continued to design websites whilst we have been travelling, mainly because I enjoy doing it and as an added bonus it boosts the travel kitty! Jobs have included a diving school in Utila, Honduras which lead to another 2 jobs on the island including a technical diving site and an environmental site. A site for a charter cruise on a 62ft Trimaran in Guatemala and a property site for my previous employer back in the UK, as well as keeping our travelling website up to date. I have just finished my current project which was a site for a Curly Horse Farm in Quebec, Canada.

European Infopoint - Brighton - June 2001 - March 2005
A small web design company who dealt with many small businesses but also did a lot of work for the local council. My role as chief web designer meant I got to participate in all aspects of web design, working closely with outside programmers and dealing directly with the client. One on one client training was common and instructions manuals written to help them understand the way their website worked.

My websites are designed with as little fuss as possible so as to remain clear and easy to use and were always WC3 compliant as this was a requirement of the government. Being it was such a small company nothing was above or beyond the call of duty work wise, everyone had to pitch in. So I got used to creating accounts on the server for new domain names and any other small bits of server work that the programmer thought I was capable of. The company also sprouted a sister company, a wireless internet company supplying broadband to rural areas of Kent. I had to designing the new website, stationary and advertisements, create new email accounts in PUTTY for new clients and deal with technical calls.

The Original Tippler Pomfret Design Company - Eastbourne - July 2000 - June 2001
My first job outside of university gave me my opening to the design world. A small company where I got to see the design process at work. Jobs included brochures, stationary, calendars etc.
