  The Process

Whether we have met you on our travels or you are further afield and we are only in contact via email, communication is the key.

Step 1
Firstly we will get together to discuss what you want from site, who is it aimed at? Have you already got an idea of content? How will the Navigation work? Will you want to update the site yourselves or will you want us to do updates for you?

Step 2
Once we have a general idea of what you are after we will come up with 2 or 3 different design ideas for you to take a look at. This we will put on a proof site so you and your colleagues will be able to view it anywhere.

Step 3
After you have decided on a design we will work together through any changes you would like to see, maybe your logo needs to be bigger, maybe you would prefer a different colour scheme. We will not try and push you into having something you don't want, only give you our professional advise. From here it is up to you, it is your site after all!

Step 4
After we are all happy with the design, we will go ahead and convert it to a web page, here you will need to provide us with all the content for the site in electronic format. Text work can be sent in most forms, Word (DOC) Acrobat (PDF) Notepad (TXT) and many more. Images can also be sent in any format, Photoshop (PSD) or general GIF, BMP, JPG, PNG etc files.

Step 5
When all the data has been entered into the new design we will place it on a proof site for you to look at and for us to test, once you are happy with this we will then put the site live.

Continuation Work
Most people will want to update their sites once they are live, maybe you have dates or names that will need changing, maybe you will want to add new images. There are 3 ways in which this can be achieved:

  1. If you have someone in your company who is web literate and you want to do any changes in-house, then we will forward you all the necessary FTP details to allow you to access the site and make your own changes.

  2. If you would like to update the site yourself but have no web experience, we can advise you on the best programs to use to update the site and can send you a comprehensible manual, giving you step by step instructions on how to update the site. This will be discussed at the beginning stages and we will construct the price into the quote before any work goes ahead.

  3. You have no idea about updating websites and quite frankly really don't want to know. In this scenario, we can build in a maintenance charge at the beginning, and will do your updates for you (this does not include any redesign work). We will base this cost on time limit, maybe you only want to change a couple of things a year in which case you may only need a few hours of our time per year. Or maybe your site needs constant updates and will need changing a few times a month in which case we will give you more hours. We will keep a time sheet at our end and advise you how many hours worth of work you have left. (bearing in mind that we are traveling around, so we may not be able to respond that second, we are never more than a week away from an internet connection though so will respond as soon as it is humanly possible!)
