The Boat - Marie

Marie is a 33 foot Sloop made by Capital NewPort. She was built in the early 80's in California. This is what we have been living on and will eventually be doing some sailing in!

I was mainly prompted to put these pictures up for Soapy (or Sophie if you prefer!) our little niece. I have a feeling she thinks we live on a rowing boat and she is terribly concerned about how we go to the toilet! So here you go Sophie, this is what we live on.

Here is a view inside the boat from the door (I'm sure there must be a more nautical word for door, we just don't know what it is!)

Here is the galley, the top lifts off of the cooker and there are your hobs. All the other surfaces lift off with storage underneath

This is our dining room, come bedroom. The table stows up against the wall (the cat comes off first!) and the seat pulls out to become a double bed.

This is the seating area opposite, and is also a single bed (Stuart is very busy working on the boat as you can clearly see!)

Here is the office! Well the chart table that everything gets dumped on and where I work on the computer. Underneath is another berth. This is where Stuart slept when he brought the boat down from Florida for the previous owner and also where he gets sent to sleep if he is naughty! It is full of our spare sails at the moment too.

This is the v-berth at the back which is a pretty comfortable double bed.

and here especially for Sophie is our toilet (you can sleep easy now!!)
